da Vinci Inchies

More inchies! This time with a blue/green background. Having a bit of a da Vinci thing at the moment. Used sponged background with a collage of da Vinci stamps from Chapel Road. Cut to size and lots of fiddly gluing.

Flight Inchies

Had a go at making inchies. They are really fiddly. Didn't find the backgrounds hard but the pictures and text had to be tiny. I managed to get a one inch punch which helped.

Using the marbled background

I had a bit of fun making a set of birthday ATCs with the new marbled backgrounds

Paper Artsy

I have been playing with some Paper Artsy stamps and here is my swap

Shaving Foam Marbling

I have been playing with shaving foam marbling with posh impressions inks. Just posted a few examples here

Texture ATCs

I decided on a da Vinci theme inspired by Trish Bee's collage sheet and finished a set of three texture ATCs.

Caught in crystal ATC

I have finished the caught in crystal ATC for the swap. This a lighter version of the ones I rescued by over stampiing them.

The final textures

On these I experimented with some light moulding paste I've had for ages and not used. It was a bit like icing a cake. I then used ink pads again to colour it. I have used the same colours in all these backgrounds so I hope that I'll be able to put together a set of three with a similiar theme. Now all I have to do is to decorate them.

More textures

I have had another play with textures. These ones are tissue paper and mesh from onions glued onto card. A layer of gesso so I could colour it and then ink pads.

Textures

I have been playing with creating some different textures on ATCs for a swap where I have to produce three ATCs with different textures. I had a play with the wizard and fiskars texture plates then wiped them with inkpads. The results are here. The other experiments are all covered in wet glue and other things and are drying on the floor. Will add them when they are dry and coloured. Eventually I'll decorate them all and make them into ATCs.

Anniversary chunky book pages

I have just sent off my chunky book pages (phew) for the Creative Cards fifth anniversary book. I used Moon Glow Glitz Spritz background, stamped with script (Hero Arts) and numbers (Ma Vinci's ). I stamped a piece of binding tape. I made some postage stamps using PSP and then stamped the cancellation and Happy Anniverary. I am soooo excited about this swap, I can't wait for the whole book to be finished.

Rescued Caught in Crystal

I was playing with the caught in crystal technique and found that the first few pieces I made were so dark you couldn't see the stamped image on the front. I rescued them by stamping images in silver and embossing them onto the front. The existing black image doesn't really show up much and because the images are different it just shows up as abstract black lines in the background. A happy accident.

Resist technique ATCs

I was looking at some of the books on my shelf and looked at Nancy Curry's Texture Effects book and it reminded me of the resist technique which I love. I tried an experiment on an ATC size and I really like how they came out. When I get a chance I'll play with some other stamps and colours.

All fabric ATC

This was an ATC swap where the entire ATC was made of fabric. I then handstitched some decoration and attached a button.

Another block and stripe challenge collage

I tried this technique again using flower stamps and a limited number of colours. I think it's very striking when it's mounted onto the black background

Grid technique ATC

This is part of a series of swaps where we use older techniques on ATCs. It's interesting how well a lot of things scale onto the smaller pieces
