Altered Beer Mats

Here's my first attempt at altered beer mats. The scans look a little out of focus because of the beads.

Sudoku ATCs

I have participated in a swap where a group of 6 people all send off 6 ATCs backgrounds to the next on the list. Each set of ATCs goes to each person in turn until all 6 have worked on it. At the end of the swap each person has one of each of the sets of ATCs.

My backgrounds are here and are painted with H2Os.

I then put stage two onto Bren's background by adding some white fibre on the side

I added stage 3 to Sweetpea's backgrounds with a some stamped words using several Marvy Le Plume pens and a Catslife press stamp.

The last ones I have worked on so far are adding stage 4 to Autumn's backgrounds. I stuck on a stamped piece of acetate with alcohol inks on the back. It is part of a Stampers Anonymous stamp.

I will add the other two sets when they have arrived and I have added stages 5 and 6 to them.

Stage 5 added to Sandra's backgrounds.

Earth tone inchies

More inchies for a swap. I used the magazine scrunchie background for some of them.

ATC madness

Inspired by Trish's challenge I went ahead and made some disjointed figure ATCs. I had a great time - it's such fun.

Hopes and Dreams

Wanted to use up some coloured backgrounds I had left over so it was an ideal opportunity to use some more of those brilliant Catslife Press stamps.

Colour sprays over leaves

I took some fern leaves and sprayed two colours over them. Then I removed the leaves and sprayed again using the lighter of the two colours. I tried this on glossy card, watercolour paper and a canvas. They are all different and I like them all. A successful experiment I think.

Magazine Scrunchie

Trish has come up with a new challenge - the magazine scrunchie background. I stuck a magazine page onto card using PVA then lightly painted with gesso. I then inked using dye inks and finally used a glue pen to add some embossing powder to the ridges. Haven't decided what the next stage will be

Not Stazon ATCs

Tried it again with adirondack ink pads.

Stazon technique ATCs

I have made some stazon technique ATCs for a swap that's coming up. I don't like the colours in the end ones as much as the middle one. Will try using different ink pads to give a more blended look maybe.

Progressive ATCs

I have joined a swap where an ATC is worked on in turn by 6 people. These are the two sets of backgrounds I have created to start off a set. I used twinkling H2Os on the pink/yellow ones wetting the watercolour paper first so that they blended better. I used small pigment inkpads direct to paper on the blue/purple ones and used some cheap watercolour paper to give a texture to them.
